A Walk towards Excellence
An engineering graduate in industrial electronics of 1981 batch, Hemanshu Desai, worked for Delarco as a resident engineer in India in his initial years. This experience introduced him to the printing industry. After Delarco’s worldwide shutdown, Hemanshu joined hands with his class mate and founded Datec India. The duo started selling their professional services to the Newspaper and Publishing Industry and soon into Commercial Printers. This venture represented few firms from abroad and were selling their equipment and software. In 2002, the duo decided to part ways and pursues their individual ambitions.

Hemanshu stuck to the printing and publishing and founded Venus
Infotech. Supported by the principals abroad and clients within India, the business soon picked up and Hemanshu was able to add new companies whose products he started selling. Enfocus, CGS and Epson were part of his list of companies. During this venture, Hemanshu added valuation to his professional degree by securing first Fogra Certification for the Color Management. Fogra is German based institute that works internationally for the Color Management and Standardization of printing process.

ThinkPrint is the blending of Venus Infotech, Basis Systems and Genesis Systems that bring world-class products to the Indian market, specialized in workflow management and training. The company was first to introduce SOFTWARE RIP that was running of OS like DOS and later on Windows. This was flexible enough to drive different Image Setter like Linotype, Monotype, and Afga etc. Prior to this, the RIPS were proprietary and Hardware based (Black Box concept).
